To expedite site design I have assembled a library of “best practice” wireframes which are very useful in designing or improving site processes.
The library is a constant work in progress which we continually improve as new testing reveals even more successful techniques.
The wireframes are done in MS Visio 2007 where many of the page elements can mimic HTML behaviors. The ability to hide and show “layers” allows us to specifically describe behaviors on page elements within the wireframe, i.e., calls to action to nav bar and search.
Most important Visio allows us to go directly to “online” prototype testing instead of paper testing of early iterations. Careful persona research during needs analysis enables us to focus on key motivators, anxiety reducers and consensus issues in the early design stages. Visio's flexibility allows the Graphic design team to easily test various color schemes, fonts and page layouts on users. Integration with SEO insures more successful launch results and better organic results without costly site changes post launch.
Sorry: we do not share our wireframe library, by its iterative nature it is in a constant state of development, and it is only available to our customers.
